Description

Invite the fierce, protective grace of one of the most powerful Shakti forms into your sacred space with this magnificently handcrafted Brass Varahi Idol. Available in three sizes — 3", 3.5", and 4.5" — this solid brass murti is cast in rich antique gold and rendered with extraordinary devotional detail, capturing the full power and beauty of Goddess Varahi in her iconic eight-armed form.

Goddess Varahi is one of the Sapta Matrikas (Seven Divine Mothers) and a supremely powerful form of the Shakti. She is the Shakti (divine energy) of Lord Varaha — the boar avatar of Vishnu — and one of the principal deities of the Shakta tradition. Fierce, protective, and deeply compassionate to her devotees, Varahi is worshipped as a destroyer of enemies and obstacles, a bestower of victory and prosperity, and a guardian of those who take sincere refuge in her. She is especially revered in South India, tantric Shakta traditions, and in the Sri Vidya lineage.

The murti depicts Goddess Varahi with her unmistakable boar face (Varaha mukha) — broad snout, wide expressive eyes, and large curved ears — crowned with a tall, intricately layered spiral mukut with a conical apex. She is seated in lalitasana — one leg drawn up, the other resting down — a posture of relaxed sovereignty that conveys both power and grace, upon an ornately carved square stepped pedestal with lotus motifs in relief on all four sides.

Her eight arms radiate outward bearing her sacred attributes:

  • Chakra (divine disc) — the wheel of cosmic time and divine will
  • Shankha (conch shell) — the primordial sound of creation
  • Danda (staff/mace) — authority and the power to punish adharma
  • Pasha (noose) — the power to bind and control
  • Ankusha (elephant goad) — the power to guide and direct
  • Abhaya mudra — the gesture of fearlessness and divine protection
  • Varada mudra — the gesture of blessing and bestowal of boons
  • Lotus (padma) — purity, beauty, and divine grace

Every surface of the murti is rendered with fine detail — layered necklaces, armlets, bangles, and anklets adorn her form, while the rear of the figure reveals a solar disc (prabhamandala) rising behind her head. The square pedestal base features scrolling lotus and wave patterns in deep relief, giving the piece a complete and self-contained temple quality from every angle.
