He is the embodiment of divine youth, radiant beauty, courage, wisdom, and the victory of righteousness over all forms of darkness and ignorance. The murti depicts Lord Murugan standing in a natural, upright posture upon a circular lotus base set on a round pedestal decorated with fine star and floral engravings. His right hand holds the vel (divine spear/lance) — his most sacred and iconic weapon, given to him by Goddess Parvati as the embodiment of divine knowledge and the destroyer of illusion — its pointed tip resting at the ground beside him. His left hand rests at his side in katihasta (hand at hip), a posture of relaxed divine sovereignty. Behind his head rises a finely engraved circular prabhamandala (solar disc halo) with radiating petal motifs, visible from all angles.
Standing prominently at his side is his vahana — the peacock (Mayura) — rendered with fine detail: the bird’s elegant neck, head, and body are clearly sculpted, while its magnificent tail fans open in a wide, shield-shaped spread of overlapping feather-eye motifs in deep relief.
