Lord Ganesha (Ganapati / Vinayaka / Vighnaharta) is the first among all deities to be worshipped in the Hindu tradition — the remover of obstacles, the lord of new beginnings, the patron of wisdom, prosperity, and the arts. He is the beloved son of Shiva and Parvati, universally worshipped across all sects and traditions, and his presence in a home is said to clear the path of all difficulties and invite abundance and auspiciousness into every endeavor.
The murti depicts Lord Ganesha seated in padmasana (lotus posture) upon a finely carved circular lotus base with deep petal engravings. His form is generous and full — the classic chubby body of Ganapati that devotees love — adorned with a collar necklace, armlets, and a serpent belt (nagabandha) at his ample waist. He wears a decoratively detailed crown (mukut) with spiral engravings and a central jewel. His trunk curves to the right — the auspicious Siddhi Vinayaka form, associated with the direct bestowal of siddhi (spiritual power and fulfillment) upon devoted worshippers.
His four arms hold his sacred attributes:
